One of the biggest issues I face as a woman is stress. No matter how many things are going well in my life, there is always stress in some area. Since I know that I am not the only woman who faces this, I have decided to create a new web site to provide encouragement and stress relief to women of all ages. I plan to make it a one-stop resource for stress relief and stress management tools and ideas for women.

It’s been a long time since I posted anything. I would think of something I wanted to say and then responsibility would call and off I’d go.  Somehow, I never got back to my blog. Of course, the holiday season is always a little more hectic but this year my family faced other challenges as well. We had a long stretch of bad weather, so much snow and ice we couldn’t really get out to do anything. Then, there were the medical mishaps and close calls.  We’re still in the middle of some of that now but I’m making posting more a priority as well.

Normally my husband and I spend Thanksgiving day with some of our family. This year we were planning to spend it with my mother-in-law and just have a quiet day. We even changed our menu from turkey to chili because we’ve all been so busy lately and we didn’t want to do a lot of cooking. Well, the day turned out to be quieter than I expected.

It’s been a while since I posted. Seems like one thing or another kept popping up and keeping me from writing. As I’ve mentioned before, I watch my grandchildren at least five days out of every week. Adjusting to this schedule has been a challenge for me and my online writing has suffered as a result.

Yesterday my seven-year-old granddaughter lost one of her top two front teeth. To be 100% correct, my husband pulled out her very loose tooth. It was actually rather comical watching her throughout the day. She kept wiggling that tooth until it was literally hanging by a thread. However, she was afraid to pull it out because she thought it would  hurt too much. Of course, when her Papa actually pulled it out, it didn’t really hurt at all.

If you’re anything like me, you often find yourself running in a hundred different directions feeling like nothing ever gets done. Maybe you even procrastinate just a little bit.

One of the best books I’ve read on the subject is Brian Tracy’s Eat That Frog. Watch the following short video to get one tip that will definitely change the way you do things.

Sometimes life gets so busy and I forget to take time for  myself. With all of the babysitting I’ve been doing and other events going on in our family, I haven’t had time to play the piano lately.  As a musician, it has been like living with an incomplete soul. This morning I pulled out one of my favorite books and began playing some music by Suzanne Ciani. If you’ve never heard her music or played it, I encourage you to give it a try. It’s beautiful, relaxing piano music of the New Age genre.

The other day my two and a half year old grandson looked up at me and said, “Your shirt pretty, Nana.” That was the first compliment he has given me and will no doubt not be the last. It was so sweet coming from that special little guy.

Last week my granddaughter celebrated her seventh birthday. Along with celebrating her birthday, I also celebrated the date I became a grandmother. It’s interesting to compare the differences one day can have for each person.
