It’s been a while since I posted. Seems like one thing or another kept popping up and keeping me from writing. As I’ve mentioned before, I watch my grandchildren at least five days out of every week. Adjusting to this schedule has been a challenge for me and my online writing has suffered as a result.

Just a short post today to announce the addition of a gift book store to my blog. This store is full of inspirational and motivational products. I hope you’ll enjoy browsing for that perfect book or accessory.

As the saying goes, “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.” I’ve experienced this several times in my life and I’m experiencing it yet again. I did not anticipate becoming a full-time babysitter to my three grandchildren at this point in my life but I am. They need me so it’s time once again to take a look at my life and make some changes.
I’ve been a grandmother now for almost seven years and I currently have three precious little people who call me “Nana.” Although I have always known how important grandparents are in the life of their grandchildren, I didn’t realize just how much until recently.
Yesterday was a sad day for one of my college friends. Her teenage son, who was recently injured in a car accident, passed away after being in the hospital for just over a month. Jared received extremely severe brain injuries as a result of the accident and had been in a coma the entire time. Although we were all hoping and praying that he would make a miraculous recovery, that did not happen. His condition was much worse than originally thought and when he was taken off life support, his body gave up the fight.
After mostly concentrating on inspirational posts, I have decided to add another direction to my blog. I will continue to write about my life and how I’m learning something new every day. However, I will also begin adding more content about writing in general. I’m putting my writing career in full gear instead of letting it sit on the back burner.
I have played the piano since I was four years old and have a music degree. I remember when I was in college that my piano professor told me I needed to put more feeling into my music. She mentioned this over and over throughout my four years studying with her. At the time, I thought that I was putting adequate feeling into my playing and wondered why she harped on it so much.
Christmas is a busy time of the year, a time to be thankful for what you have and to share with others. For the past week or so, I’ve been wrapping gifts and filling stockings. Now that my children are grown, it’s much easier to get everything done ahead of time. Of course, I miss having small children in the house eagerly looking forward to Christmas.
With the political season in full swing, telling the truth or not telling the truth (as the case may be) is a major issue. As a voter and concerned citizen, it is often hard to tell who is telling the truth and who isn’t and whether something is 100% true or has been stretched to meet the situation. It’s very disillusioning to me personally.
Priorities, priorities, priorities. It seems that you hear about them everywhere you go. Everyone talks about how important it is for you to prioritize your activities so that you can get the most out of life and manage your time efficiently.
