I had a computer crisis this past week and it messed up my schedule for getting all sort of things done, including posting on my blog. It was frustrating because my computer was the victim of a very nasty virus. The virus took over all sorts of things so it was hard to figure out exactly what was wrong. As I write this post, my son-in-law is still trying to see if he can save my computer from an early demise.

It’s extremely frustrating because I was doing all the right things. I had my computer protected as best I could - firewall, antivirus program, spyware program, etc.  So, why did this happen to me and why did it happen now at a time when I can’t afford to buy a new computer? Who knows? Sometimes that’s the way things go and you have to literally “go with the flow.”

So, I sit here working on an older computer hoping it will be able to get me through until I can do better. That’s something to keep in mind. I’ve heard different people throughout my life say something to this effect, “You do what you can with what you have and what you know until you can do better.” It’s a good mantra to keep in mind because life will throw you lots of unexpected and unpleasant things.

During these tough economic times, more and more people are finding themselves in difficult situations. Even when you’ve done everything right such as saving money, using credit wisely, and investing for retirement, bad things still happen. It’s a good time to remember that all you can do is to do the best you can with what you have. That’s good enough for now–and it will get you through until things turn around and you can do better.
