In Appreciation for My Husband

For the past two weeks I’ve been under the weather and it was all I could do just to get through the basics everyday. Right now one of those basics is babysitting  my three grandchildren pretty much every day. There were days when I would go fill glasses of water, change diapers, break up fights, and lie down in between each episode. If  it weren’t for my husband, life would have been pretty miserable. Since his work schedule is flexible, he stayed home and helped out as often as he could.

We may have our differences but one thing I have always been able to to count on: my husband will take care of me and anything that needs to be done when I’m not feeling well. I am truly grateful for him because I know from speaking with other people that I am very lucky to have someone who is so understanding and compassionate. I never have to worry that he’ll be upset if there’s no dinner on the table or the house is a mess when I’m sick. In fact, he often calls me and tells me not to worry about anything. He’ll take care of me and everything else when he gets home.

I realize that I often write about the importance of appreciating people and I hope that it doesn’t come across as simply being redundant. Rather, I hope that this will encourage you to look more closely at your own life and find those people and things that you can appreciate.
