Are You Living Down to Someone Else’s Expectations?
This past week I saw Montel Williams on “The Doctors” program on TV. In case you don’t know who Montel is, he is a well-known talk show host who suffers from MS (multiple sclerosis). He was on the program to help a young woman who is also living with a disabling illness. During the course of the interview, he made the statement that he decided early in his fight against MS that he was not going to let other people dictate his progress or lack of it. He said, “I don’t have to live down to other people’s expectations.”
Swine Flu – Don’t Let it Get You Down
All the news recently is about Swine Flu, how it’s spreading, what we should do to be safe, and on and on. Unfortunately, many media outlets choose to use fear to sell their story instead of providing rational accurate information, and so many people are truly frightened. Just the name, Swine Flu, has a horrible undertone to it. However, it’s good to remember that it is just a type of influenza. People can recover. It’s not an automatic death sentence.

he who has hope, has everything.”
— Owen Arthur: Prime minister of Barbados
