September 11, 2001 – We Will Never Forget
Most of us Americans will always remember where we were and what we were doing when the September 11, 2001 attacks occurred. Even if you don’t, it is a day to contemplate and remember.
RIP John Dye
Through the years, one of my favorite TV shows was “Touched By an Angel.” No matter how difficult things were in my personal life, I could always count on being uplifted by watching an episode of that show. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the show, John Dye played the part of Andrew, the male angel of death who guided people from this life to the next. He played the part so well that even though I’ve seen him in other shows since, I always think of him as Andrew.
Life Perspective -Time Changes Things
Yesterday my seven-year-old granddaughter lost one of her top two front teeth. To be 100% correct, my husband pulled out her very loose tooth. It was actually rather comical watching her throughout the day. She kept wiggling that tooth until it was literally hanging by a thread. However, she was afraid to pull it out because she thought it would hurt too much. Of course, when her Papa actually pulled it out, it didn’t really hurt at all.
Keep Your Passion Alive
Sometimes life gets so busy and I forget to take time for myself. With all of the babysitting I’ve been doing and other events going on in our family, I haven’t had time to play the piano lately. As a musician, it has been like living with an incomplete soul. This morning I pulled out one of my favorite books and began playing some music by Suzanne Ciani. If you’ve never heard her music or played it, I encourage you to give it a try. It’s beautiful, relaxing piano music of the New Age genre.
What Are You Leaving Behind?
One of my favorite quotes is:
What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the lives of others.
