I received this quote in my email today and it really applies to my current situation:
“Now” is the operative word. Everything you put in your way is just a method of putting off the hour when you could actually be doing your dream. You don’t need endless time and perfect conditions. Do it now. Do it today. Do it for twenty minutes and watch your heart start beating. ~ Sam Ewing
Recently, I have begun watching my grandchildren while their mother works. They spend anywhere from 45-60 hours with me every week which has cut into the time I can spend on working my online business. Now, I’m not complaining at all. I love my grandchildren and they really need me right now so there was never a question of not watching them.
If anything, this experience is teaching me the importance of prioritizing and the art of getting something done in a very short block of time. I’ve always been someone who was challenged by trying to get too many things done at one time. Well, guess what? I don’t have that luxury anymore. If I want to get anything done, I have to decide exactly what I want to accomplish and then do it without wasting any time when I have that coveted small time period to get it done.
If you too are someone who suffers from lack of focus or procrastination, why not use this approach even if you’re not short on time? Define your goal or dream and then spend 20 minutes today working on an activity that will help to get you there.
