Why You Might Want to Think Like a Child

Here is a quote that I think we can all agree with:

“A baby is God’s opinion that the world should go on.” – Carl Sandburg

There is nothing quite like holding a baby in your arms, gazing into the little one’s eyes and wondering what the future will hold for him or her. I know that I wondered this with my own children and now I wonder what my little grandchildren will be or do in the future.

Lately, my role in life has changed a bit. My older daughter is working outside of the home part-time and I am watching her three small children. This is one of the great things about working at home. I am able to help her out and give my grandchildren a secure place to stay.

I love listening to them talk together about what they’re going to do now and what they want to be when they grow up. They don’t know enough to put limits on their thinking or to be discouraged about what obstacles may get in their way.

If only it was so easy to be this way as an adult. The older I get the easier it is for me to see the obstacles that may occur based on my extensive life history. That’s why I enjoy reading motivational books and positive quotes. It helps to keep my mind focused on what can be and not borrow trouble that isn’t there.
